Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma has led multiple case breakthroughs in the past four to five months. Personally overseeing investigations, he conducts weekly review meetings to track progress. “Every week, I personally review the progress of various cases in Kolkata,” Verma stated, emphasizing the department’s proactive approach.
In Tangra’s 21C locality, two women and a teenage girl were found dead with their wrists slit. Police are investigating both murder and suicide angles. Forensic teams are analyzing evidence, and officials are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning locals. “It is too early to declare this a homicide or suicide. Our team is meticulously working on leads,” said a senior officer.
A Kolkata court sentenced the Burtolla child rape accused to death for sexually assaulting a seven-month-old baby. The police conducted a swift probe, leading to conviction. The crime had sparked outrage, and the court delivered the verdict after reviewing forensic evidence and testimonies.
